Autumn brings out the lazy side of me.
The addict to comfort.
The one who wants to sit back in the morning with a cup of tea instead of heading outside to tend the garden at dawn.
But it also brings out the child in me.
The excitement of mounds of leaves to jump through.
The start of routine and learning.
The regular holidays reminding us to keep playing,
even in the cold and dreary.
And it brings out my happiness at nostalgia,
hazy memories of the joy amidst the pain,
and the desire for solitude and reflection.
And it reminds me that everything,
Good and Bad,
has it’s time,
as witnessed by the first leaf
as she falls gracefully
without regret.
