Incomparable You…

What would you say to me tonight

as I ruminate on the words of an old prayer

“accept the things I cannot change” …

For even as I found the courage to face

what I thought I could not,

and found the wisdom to keep most of my words

light ~ like your spirit,

my heart quivered and skipped

while my belly flopped round

and I struggled against overwhelming dizziness

each time another person offered their love.

Raw, exposed, accepted, I felt you there for a moment

Allowing me to breathe in your light

And feel your wisdom envelop me

In the midst of the chaos of my own creation

As I realized that I can always change

my perception…
