Shift

April is National Poetry Month.  This year, I will be posting raw, un-edited pieces throughout the month.  Here is todays piece.
The shift in experience from emotional hell to heaven on earth becomes the mark of personal resurrection
like moving continents, the shift can be nearly imperceptible
until we wake up one day and see not that anything in particular has changed
but our own perception and outlook.
Yet, like moving continents,
sometimes the shift is fast, changing everything around us at once
shaking all that we think we know about the world and our place in it,
leaving only Grace to help us regain our bearings
Grace to show us the opportunities in our circumstances.
ahhhh, Grace…
Grace is the full acceptance of starting right where we are
and acting from the trust that all will unfold into perfection whether we see it or not
Grace is a choice,
a choice to propel the shift into meaning through action
even as the ground moves beneath our feet.
